Painter
Born in Santander in 1962, she has lived in Palma de Mallorca since 1979.
Graduated in Advertising at the School of AAOO in Palma de Mallorca. She trained as a painter at the Escuela Libre del Mediterráneo. She went on to direct this school of painting from 1993 to 1993 until 1997.
Ángeles Cereceda had her first individual exhibition in Palma in 1990. Since then, she has shown her work regularly in this city and in individual exhibitions in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Santander, Tarragona, Brussels, Austin TX or Monte Carlo, among other cities, or in international fairs such as ArteSantander, Florence Biennial, New York Artexpo, ArtNocturne Knocke, etc…
In 1997, she made her first solo exhibition in Tokyo, since then she has exhibited regularly in several cities in Japan such as Kyoto, Osaka, Chiba, Hakata, Kurashiki, Sapporo, Shimonoseki, Kobe…
Her career as a painter is marked by a deep research and study of figurative painting through drawing and painting in all its technical variants, mainly oil and watercolor.
As a landscape painter, following the commission of the Balearic Government for the portrait of Rafael Nadal, she begins an intense work in this field and her portraits acquire great recognition as part of various private collections in Europe.
Her work has been described as “a solid, tangible and compact figurative painting of great virulence in the materials with a refined technique. A painter of quality with great acuity for the interpretation of light and great mastery of the craft but overcoming the barrier of virtuosity with freedom; colors, lights and shadows are an abstraction of the visible reality creating an explosion of compact, elegant, uberrima and intense artistic sensation”.
